Through the lens of poetry Amy hones in on human foibles, including her own. In 2011 she published her “epic” poem, “The Discovery of Mummy,” (a fictitious account of the upheaval caused in “The Museum of Natural History” by the mysterious appearance of an Egyptian mummy partially unwrapped, then haphazardly stuffed into a Zabar’s bag which the Assistant Director trips over upon entering the Museum’s incinerator closet. It was performed in Cambridge,)

She was a member of a light-verse group for six years, “X.J. Kennedy and The Light Brigade”, a.k.a. “The Light Brigade”, an ensemble which has spawned laughter at The Massachusetts Poetry Festival, The Concord Poetry Society and Fruitlands Museum, as well as over the airways.

The following poems are samples of Amy's poetry from the 'Miss Smarty Pants Series'.

About a girl around 9 years old , bright and very inquisitive, but can't seem to get it right.
